Olifitbot
A personal AI fitness coach on Telegram that pulls in Fitbit data and runs on self hosted n8n with an LLM behind it.

What it is
A Telegram bot that reads the previous day’s Fitbit data (steps, sleep, resting heart rate, workouts) and sends a short morning message about it. You can reply to it in plain language and ask it to adjust the week’s plan.
How it works
- A self hosted n8n instance runs a daily workflow that fetches the Fitbit data over the Fitbit Web API.
- The data and the last few days of conversation are sent to an LLM with a fixed system prompt that describes the coaching style and the limits of what it should say.
- The reply goes back through the Telegram Bot API. Replies from the user trigger the same workflow with the message as input.
- The LLM provider is swappable. It has run against both the Anthropic API and the OpenAI API.
What has been learned
Most of the value is in the summary, not the coaching. Having the numbers in one message each morning is useful on its own; the model mainly adds tone.
Status
An experiment. It works for one person and is not packaged for anyone else yet.
